How to tighten or loosen the Truss Rod on the Jamstik Studio
The Jamstik Studio has a standard electric guitar truss rod in the neck, note that this adjustment to the Truss Rod is not required out of the box, however, In the event that you need to make an adjustment down the road should the neck change due to changes of season/climate this article will walk you through the process of making the adjustment.
Important note: We recommend making small, incremental quarter-turn adjustments as needed to avoid damage to the neck by over-tightening or loosening the truss rod. Most importantly, do not force the adjustment if the truss rod does not want to budge. If you do not feel comfortable making this adjustment please bring it to an experienced professional to avoid damaging the neck.
When to make an adjustment to the Truss Rod?
- Action is too high due to bowed neck making it hard to play (too much relief)
- Action is too low due to back bow in neck resulting in fretting out in the first position of the neck (not enough relief)
-Allen Key (Provided in the Studio MIDI Guitar Gig Bag)
1. Remove the pick drawer
2. With the truss rod tool; Rotate clockwise to correct up-bow & counter clockwise to correct back bow
3. Re-insert pick drawer
